"I have a 1968 Johnson v 100 outboard. When I first purchased it, it ran like a champ. That was at the sellers home I mean. When I got it home it was a different story. First the starter went so i had it rebuilt. Then the cellnoid went. I bought a new one and installed it. The wiring harness that connects boat wiring to motor wiring went so I bypassed it altogether and ran new wiring direct. Now I am getting no spark and do not know what exactly to test or check for. I have been told that the stator could be fried. So two questions 1. is there any way to check to see if the stator is bad and 2 are there any other things i should check. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you."
