"I have a 92 Maxum 19’ that had a 4.3L V6. I am looking for Info, the challenges and ease of putting a 5.0L V8 back in instead of 4.3L"

"If you have a complete carb to pan and coupler to w/p 5.0 CHEVROLET (not Ford) Mercruiser engine of similar or exact year to the 4.3, then it's not hard. Just need to make sure your engine compartment has room. And then you may need different gears in your outdrive depending on the HP of the 2 engines (There were some 4.3's in more recent times that actually made more HP than some 5.0's).
If going V8, why not go 5.7...hardley seems worth it to swap for more weight and marginal HP increases.
A lot of missing info from your question tho' - like the year of the 5.0- important...and whether it's complete with manifolds etc"

"Ok, I have a 93 Maxum 22' with the 5.0L Mercruiser that I'v ran all summer. may thoughs are put the 5.0L in the 19' boat and buy a new 5.7l for the 22' boat."

"92 to 93 -that should be a pretty easy swap as both have GenII alpha drives.... you have both boats so you can do lots of careful measuring as far as where front motor mounts will sit and whether mods to stringers etc req'd.. I'm guessing Maxum puts the fuel tank right near where the front crank pulley is going to sit - so measure twice for that if that's where your tank is...The Ypipe is the same V6 or V8 so exhaust risers should line up to the hoses fine. outdrive gearing the only iffy part. Minor increases in power can sometimes be dealt with by going up in prop pitch. It's trial and error...once you get more than 23P, if you still have too much rpm @ WOT, you need to change outdrive gear ratios (in the upper unit)"

Your 4.3 likely uses a 1.81 ratio drive; whereas all SBC V-8's use the 1.47.
You could likely do a swap thru ebay for what you need.
The SBC V-8's are about 4.5 inches longer than the V-6.
You will need to move the front mounts ahead on the stringers. All else is bolt in replacement.
Otherwise they are the same width and height as the V-6; and about 150 lbs heavier.
For the 22' consider the 6.2 MPI. Same block as the 5 and the 5.7; but 320 shaft hp.

AK;
I disagree.
On my swap of a 4.3 for a 6.2 the front mounts had to be moved about 3 inches.
