I have a 1988 Bayliner Trophy with a dead OMC 3.0L engine. How much work is it to refit it with a V6 engine and is it even worth it.If not does anybody out there have a fresh 3.0 for sale?

" Besides reegineering the engine mounts, changing the outdrive and prop and installing an exhaust "Y" pipe, there's nothing to it. Your boat is nearly fifteen years old. If you really love this boat and plan to keep it for several more years and can do the work yourself, you may consider it. You will be delighted in the increased performance. If you are looking at a new motor, save your money and put it toward a newer boat and motor package. Used and reman motors are redily available and are a more cost efficient alternative than a complete motor swap. Good luck. "
