Engine stalled after WOT

I put the boat in on Friday. Had a couple of issues a corroded fuse connector that killed the electrical system not to mention the wire got a little hot and a bad condenser. Boat ran good last night for a 2 hour ride with a 50 50 split of idling and almost wide open throttle. I went out tonight and was running down the river about 2500 rpms turned and ran back at about 3800 rpms and my old crusader/Chevy 409 ran like a charm. Had the old girl up at WOT for about 10 minutes. I turned in to make my approach and slow downed to idle so I could come into the dock without a wake. The motor stalled after I idled her down she started right back up again and died again. This happened 3 times but I made it into the dock and tied up. I started her up and brought up the RPMs a few times and she didn't stall again. I did notice that my fuel flow gauge was not working so I pulled the sensor and found a good size piece of plastic stuck in the sensor. I blew it out and the gauge is working fine now and she hasn't stalling since. I turned her up and the dwell and advance is perfect not to mention a new condenser. I'm just looking for a little reassurance that the plastic in the fuel line was probably it.

Based on what you provided, it is highly likely that the plastic blocked the wheel in the sensor. if it was in the "correct", that whell will impede most of the fuel flow.

I'd be worried about the corrosion and the hot wires in the electrical system.

Thanks Mark. I replaced the offending wire. It was a "sealed fuse holder" and somehow the contact inside got corroded. I also moved my sensor to the other side of the fuel filter so hopefully that will not happen again. I installed a new fuel tank this year it is plastic. I guess I should have rinsed it out again before I installed it.
