I have a Mercury 50 HP 4 strokes outbord engine.
Model: 50ELPT-4S S/N : OT416629 Manufactured dec 2002
The transmition and trotle control was model RC881170A15, the S/N 315.
Was installed by Princecraft Factory jan 2003 in Québec, Canada.
This trouble dosn't start immediately. But slowly over a period off 2-3 ears.
The problem start intermittent, but the problem was increasing more
and more often up to a point that I can't run the engine over 2500 rpm.
The engine run verry smooth on low idle and up to around 2500 rpm.
When I push the trotle handle forward the rpm increase but when the revolution
goes over this rpm, (2500) the engine stall.
If I am fast enouft to reduce the speed trotle, the engine continu to run ( at a lower rpm and verry smooth)
I remove all the remaining gaz and clean the gaz tank. I fill the tank with new gaz
I replace all gaz lines, the little priming pump gaz on gaz line.
4 carburators kits have been installed by the dealer.
The gaz filter, and the gaz pump diafrag and valves have been replaced by the dealer.
The spark plug, and coil have also been replaced by the dealer.
I had replaced the rpm gauge. The firt one was getting erratic.
Is there a possible cause between the rpm gauge and my problem ?
The original rpm gauge was a Faria gauge, installed at the Princecraft factory.
The original Faria rpm gauge was model TC9011A.
I replace it by a Faria rpm gauge model TC9002A
How many pole have my 50 HP engine. ?
The problem occur hot or cold
Is there a computer plug on this engine. ?
Thanks
