" Hello,
Have a 2000 Johnson 60hp outbard. Been running well. Trip before last ran out of fuel. Fuel tank is verified as clean. Bought fuel at filling station, so hopefully no water. On next trip ran good for about 30-40 minutes. Then shut down. Started right back up ran for 10-15 mins and shut down. After doing this for another 2 hours with about 5 mins of run and 15-20 mins of cool made it home. Now same thing on shore engine runs good for 8-10 minutes then it is like fuel/oil is getting in but not being burned and even at Wide open engine will slowly shut it self off with alot of oil smoke. Do I maybe have a power pack bad? What is a good test for power pack? I guess I need to check it when cold and compare to when hot. Could battery be problem? Battery is ok as far as I know. Checked Compression ok. Changed plugs. (had never been changed) VRO Pump problems?Thanks "
