Engine Shut Down

I have a pair of 2005 Crusader 8.1s. The Port engine randomly shuts down, could be an hour or it could be 5 or 10 minutes. The first couple of times it shuts down it will automatically restart. I have the Diacom Marine software running but there are no codes when the engine fails. I have changed out the fuel pump and ecm but no change. I can put a jumper across the fuel pump, ignition, starter relay and the engine runs fine. Sometimes in the beginning the tach will go several hundred rpm high but not always. Any help would be appreciated.
 
First thing you have to remember is that there are a lot of things the computer does NOT control...many of the fuel systems functions being at the top of this list. the relay's you mentioned, sadly, fail frequently. you may want to replace them as they are cheap when you buy a full box.

Not sure exactly what your third sentence means; never seen an engine automatically restart...being picky, yes, but you need to remember none of us, here, are aboard your boat when the issue arises. all we have to go on is your postings.

What I should have said was that the engine shuts down for maybe a second or two and then just starts running again. I barely have time to pull the throttles back and the engine is running. When I look at the laptop with the Diacom software running the engine run time has re-started. I failed to mention in my first post that I swapped the relays (all three) with the other engine and the symptoms remain the same (i.e. they don't follow to the other engin).
