"On the water at idle, have a buddy shift into fw. or/and rev. and eye-ball the shift interruptor switch on the shift linkage plate. The switch only should be activated while shifting "out" of gear.
Does it shift into gear while engine is not running, do you see the cables move the linkage?
No sync needed for the throttle to the shift!
The shift interuptor is not the trim limmit or position sender located on the bimball wristpins but under the engine cowl.
Who replaced the lower shift cable? Any waranty"
