Engine quit when put in Nuetral, now completely dead

5.0 EFI, I pulled the port engine into nuetral as i approached my dock and it stalled out, now completely dead, was running perfectly for 3 straight days.

Battery checked good, even switched it with starboard side, check all the connections etc.

Normally when i turn on the ignition, i get an alarm test, elec fuel pumps come on, guages etc., all dead

Circuit breaker (50A) on engine seems ok, no power going to it or the solenoid next to it?

Help, what eles can i check, any help appreciated thanks

Neutral safety switch in the throttle went? You have a kill switch on the boat for that motor sometimes called a man overboard switch it has a lanyard, to hook up to the driver.

Your battery cable good, clean and the battery post clean ? It might look clean use a battery brush clean the lug. Ground good on the motor.

The key switch good a wire come off the back?

Starter solenoid?

No power to the sloenoid? I opened the throlle body checked the wireing to the nuetral cutout all clean dry etc. There is no kill switch/lanyard. Took batttery cables off, looked good, cleaned anyway and switched battery with other engine. Key and ignition breaker are down in the cabin on main panel, pulled it, all is tight, clean.

I'm thinking a ground problem, i cant get to the grounding stud on the rear of the engine, best i could do was get my hand the cable and try to wiggle it, seemed tight and didn't help.
OR
Maybe the fuse built in to the starter lug? cant get at it without pulling manifolds.
OR
Short somewhere

Can i hook up a new ground directly from battery to engine to eliminate whether or not its the ground lug?
Anyway to bypass the starter fuze to test it?
Very fustrating

Fixed Re: Engine quit when put in Nuetral, now completely dead

Fixed!

The fused lug to the starter was the culpret. voltmeter showed only 6 or 7 volts getting past it, lot of corrosion on it. Removed, replaced, fixed!
