"i have a AQ131C volvo penta i am haveing a problem i put it in a lake today it went about 1/4 mile with no problem tried to come to a stop and it stalled, tried to start and it kept stalling ! so i noticed the fuel bulb had crackes and looked like tio was sucking air so i put a new one on and went back to the lake it started drove about the same distance 1/4 mile came to a stop stalled again and just would not stay running
any sugesting please?

anyone can help me please i am trying to fix my boat but do not want to spend money on just maybes 1i need your expert help i know the people on this site are really great at helping poeple like me figure out boat problems ? any help would be great ?

"If your boat has a built-in tank, the vent is over the side, usually close to the filling-up cap. You will have to look for the exact location, as I am not familiar with Regal boats. The vent has a stainless screen that should be clear. Also, the vent line between vent and fuel tank should be free of any obstruction."

thanks i will chack this morning ! i also will just change the coil it has been on there for a long long time ?? and it just started doing this one day it ran great the next this problem so maybe your right on with a coil anything electri could jut go like that ??

"Make sure the wires and connectors going to the coil are in very good condition. If you peel a section of existing wire and it looks dark instead of the usual copper color, replace it!! Also, use only "marine" rated wire; it is tinned (silver colour instead of copper) and it withstands corrosion very well. You can get that type of wire at any marine parts store."

ok will do just that ! thanks i will let you no whats happens today i hope it is either the fuel tank problem or the coil ?? but like i said i think i will put a coil on anyway becasue it is old ??

"Replacing the coil in case of

"Replacing the coil in case of doubt is, in my opinion, cheap insurance. Coils are not expensive and, if you find there is nothing wrong with the one you removed, you will have a nice spare (which is always convenient to have onboard anyway).

"i chacked the fuel tank vent and thats clear ,also put a new coil and that did not due it either ? run stall run stall ,, so i took off the the of the air breather of the carb had someone start the motor and i poured a little gas in the carb little by little and it kept running when i would stop it stalled so at this time i am thinking fuel pump hopefully if i find one today i will try that ?? sure seems bad to me ?"
 
"If you think the fuel pump is

"If you think the fuel pump is bad, remove the discharge fuel line, then install a pressure gauge and crank the negine. If you get 2.5-4 psi, the pump is good."
 
I have a 2000 regal with a 4.3

I have a 2000 regal with a 4.3 liter volvo penta every time i put it in the lake it breaks down.i have put in the shop the mechanic says water is getting in the motor when i pull it up in neutral when tubing due to boat having no flaps .I went to lake today it ran fine when i started out tonight it made a loud pop and motor will not turn over there is no water in cylinders.

"Barbara- you would be better off starting a new thread for your boat but if I were you, I would call Regal and find out how many service bulletins they generated for your model.

Loud pop and no crank- did you check the cylinders by pulling the spark plugs? Is there any sound when you try to crank it?"

"thanks ELPESCADOR once again you were a big help !! i cleaned out all fuels lines changed the coil, still had a problem so i checked the fuel pump presure less then 1 lb presure so i looked up in the manual and it said 3.2 pounds of presure ,changes the fuel pump friday took it in the lake sat runs better then ever !! thanks agian for all your help !!! you help so many people on this site ??? thanks
