Turn key nothing acts like its

Turn key nothing acts like its in neutral shift in and out of gear and it will start. Is there a neutral safety switch on the motor or in the helm. Or is it just an adjustment on the cable. its a 1994 14o johnson.
 
It isn't bad. Remove the

It isn't bad. Remove the remote control and open it up. You should see the switch inside resting against the inner rotating collar. There is a lobe with an arrow lining up right on the swtich (when in neutral). Just replace as you see it...switch should slide in place and then connect the wires.

gregory ty for your help all fuses good there is no switch there ready to take all the wires to see if theres a short don't want to

i have a93evinrude 140v4 i checked fuses turn the key to start nothing i looked at starter put another one in ingition switch good where do igo from here

"Brian, maybe a little more information on the problem. Was the starter working fine prior? Did this happen all of a sudden? You mentioned that you were getting the momentary horn beep and the clicking from the choke/primer. Is that still happening? Is there anything else happening when you attempt to start?"
 
yes the starter did work for a

yes the starter did work for a few times trying to start didnot start then nothing so took starter apart it was in pieces so i put in a rebuilt one now nothing turn key one beep push in choke still works it has a new solenoid maybe the old starter being as bad as it was did some thing to the solenoid if i jump starter it gos up
