Engine help! 235 omc

I recently purchased a 1976 (according to the title) sea ray with what appears to be a 235hp (according to rocker covers) 351 Windsor engine. I am having a difficult time identifying the thermostat housing so that I can get a gasket or o-ring for it. It has 3 bolts and 4 ports on the top cover, directly in line with each other. I also am confused as to why this engine is not popping up when searching for parts, all models show a different style exhaust manifold and thermostat housing when I look at exploded views for this engine year. Only the 1977 model seems to have the "log" style exhaust but still different thermostat housing. Anyone able to help a newbie out? I would post pictures if I could.

Find the data plate on the engine to get the correct engine model. There is no guarantee that OMC & SeaRay changed models years at the same time. Maybe your boat was built as a late 76 but didn't ship out until later with an early 77 OMC drive.
What is the serial number of the boat, (10 digits engraved into upper right corner of transom). All boats made after Nov 1, 1972 must follow a standardized format.

Small block Ford V8s (302/351) usually have two bolts on the intake manifold that connect to an "L" adapter with two bolts to a four-port thermostat housing. Something has changed and it may be hard to find the right gaskets. You can always cut one yourself or use Permatex gasket maker. An O-ring usually comes with a new thermostat. I have a new aluminum 302/351 intake manifold, but the adapter and housing are hard to find.
