Engine coupler Lubrication

"i have 3.0 alpha 1 and bought

"i have 3.0 alpha 1 and bought all the types of grease for maintenance and found the engine coupler called for a specific one which i did not get. How critical is it to use that one? is there another type i can use? I have the gimble, teflon 4 c and type 101.

"They want us to use "spline grease". It seems it's a high pressure grease. I use it on all splines.20 years ago, all we used was blue marine grease and never had any problems that I recall."

"101 will do the job. should pull yearly, inspect, and regrease anyway. use spline grease if it's available, but don't worry."
 
I've always used 24c with

I've always used 24c with no problems. Since the early 90's. I like to pull yearly and check everything out.
