Engine casing refurb

Can someone tell me how to refurb my Johnson 70hp engine casing as the cream paint finish is flaking off below the top cover.
The bare metal (aluminium i presume) seems slightly pitted. Can i sand it bak, prime and paint??? If so, what do i use?

Use a " self etching primer " and your dealer will have rattle cans of original colour paint.
