Well, I've done so much stuff and still I have this issue. I've opened the cowl and exactly after the armature plate gets to open the throttle plate on the carb it will bog down. I have a 1971 18hp Evinrude. I would love to know if I'm missing something.
What I've done:
New fuel pump. Bulb stays hard. Definitely working
New fuel lines. From the tank to the fuel pump to the carb. No visible leaks anywhere.
New points/coils. Spark is good. Fine tuned timing to open in between hashmarks. Double checked to verify.
Cleaned carburetor literally about 10 times. Clean as a whistle.
Seafoam 1/2 gallon of fuel 3/4 of the Seafoam cam it ran out of fuel a little over an hour. To be fair it was still making smoke after it used up the fuel I will run another cycle.
The motor idles very smooth now, however, better than it every has for sure! But I can still only putt around the lake while boats wiz past me.
What reasons can it be that it is not getting enough fuel as soon as it's getting more air? Please help
