"Hi,
I just replaced the power pack on a 1996 Johnson 225 Ocean Runner V6 2 stroke. Before it was only running on 4 or maybe 4.5 cylinders. Now it runs good but if I bring the RPM up to 5K, the engine alarm sounds. I immediately shut down. I can then immediately turn ignition on and engine check occurs and no alarm. It does not seem to be hot. I can start up right away and as long as I keep under 5K rpm, no alarm and runs great. It happens every time I go above 5K rpm.

I am going to change the impeller since it has been awhile, but does anyone know what else it may be?

"Thank you jwbmarine, I will now focus on the fuel delivery. I will replace the in line fuel filter and I will get a test gas tank and use that to see what happens. That should tell me if its in the motor or the delivery to the motor.
