"Does anyone know how to eliminate the S-L-O-W function on my 93 40 hp Johnson elec. start outboard? If it's not possible,is there a previous year powerpack that I could use which doesn't have the slow function? The S-L-O-W function in my motor has been acting "funny"(kicking in for no reason) and I no longer trust it. I think I can get along ok with just the overtemp. horn. Thanks for any help ! Ray A."

"slow,normally kicks in due to overheat...ck ur eng temps...for ur yr model,u may not be able to get away fr it,but...u dont want to....excellent feature....u may have a bad sensor...may not be the pack,at all."

Hi JWB: Thanks for the quick comeback. I'm sure that temp. sw. did not kick in the "slow mode" because I ran motor with the thermostat out plus temp. sw. disconnected and motor was still in "slow mode". I then disconnected the tan wire at the power pack and the motor ran fine. I reconnected everything plus reinstalled a new thermostat and the motor still ran fine (no "slow mode"). I think it's just a matter of time and the gremlin will be back to bite me. Any ideas ?
