In my 2.3 ford omc I have an e

In my 2.3 ford omc I have an electric choke how do I adjust it. also can I supply the power directly from ignition with 12 volts. it's not being power by the alternator.

The adjustmment is by moving the bakelite dial covering the spring.

Not being a smarta$$ but how do you know if it needs adjusting if you don't have power to it?"

don't forget to tighten the screws when done and to check operation once the engine is running. It should be open after a few minutes."
