I have twin 2005 Volvo Penta 5.7 GI's.......everything was working properly, until I tried to change the tachometer without shutting off all the main powers. When replacing the tack two of the wires accidentally touched.....there is still key switch power because the port gauges bounce when switch is turned on, but the key switch alarm and the fuel pump has lost power........please help.......

Will it crank when you turn key to start?

I have a 5.7 gi. Not sure if they are the same but I have to relays right next to my fuel pump little black squares. One is for the injectors the other is a fuel pump relay. If you switch them (they are exactly the same) you will hear the alarm and pump. Remember if it is bad your injectors won't work. But you will then know that is your problem and can go buy another relay. Again that is how my 94 5.7 gi is set up. Mine is fuel injected if you have the GL it is a carb I believe. I hope this helps.

I am experiencing the same thing. My boat ran great a few weeks ago. I think there might have been an electrical event during the recent rain. Did you find the issue? Would you be willing to share?

Thank you.
