Electrical nightmare

1991 pontoon with evinrude 48spl...ive changed ignition switches 3 times,in last 7 months,,and its not the switch...i have power going into switch,but no primer power ,and no start power out of the switch,,,,iv,e checked voltage at the switch and those 2 lugs have nothing,,,i'm stumped

Where are you purchasing your switches from?
Are you measuring with something like a volt meter (that will read 12 volts easily without a load) or a test light with an incandescent bulb (that will draw some current)?

There are only 5 or 6 wires, it's a simple harness....On a pontoon.
Check the wire run from the engine to the helm along the top of the pontoon. Most likely a rodent friend has chewed the harness.

checking with voltmeter ,,no continuity at start lug but when i pull wire ( yellow /red stripe } i have continuity......this last switch is genuine mercury / evinrude
