Electrical Issues.....Help

My tilt only works in one direction. No click from solenoid in other direction. Can I jump the solenoid to see if it works and how would I do that? I have a combo oil pressure and block temp gauge. I think it is broken. How can I see if a used one works without opening my dash up and doing a lot of work and possibly having another defective gauge? Can I hook up a wire from the sending units of each function and wire to positive and negative posts on my battery. The gauge has a ground wire to each gauge function and each has a IGN and a SENDER post for each function. Any info much appreciated...........Thanks..........Island Boy

with a screwdriver that has a rubber grip place it between the 2 posts, you should see a spark and the drive move.

Or use a piece of wire.

I just replaced a solenoid on my boat for the tilt. Not hard to find one they are on ebay and any auto store will have it just bring it with you. It is actually a ford part. You want to make sure you match it up you want the mounting holes exact.

The gauges are test just as you described. Your coming along fine Island boy.
