Electric shift???????????

I bought this boat a 77 Larson day cruiser. The out drive is missing he said it snapped off in a parking lot. So I have know idea what out drive to get and they all want to know if its electric shift. How do I find this out.
It has a 8 cyl omc Ford 302 I think. Please help me this is driving me crazy.

Paul not trying to be smart a$$ but why would you buy this old pos ?

Ok if the drive snapped off you got more problems then just buying a drive there has to be damage to the intermediate.

I or we will need to see pics, take one full on of whats on the back now and a couple of close ups.

The good news i know this drive setup and others here know your setup real good .
The bad news depending on how bad the damage is, it's gonna cost some real money to get you on the water.

I don't have the drive I wish I did but that would make this to easy and we cant have that.

You need a intermediate. So now you have a choice. You have tru course steering.

If you can find a boat with a bad motor and a good intermediate, and mechanical shift 82-85 drive buy it.

tansfer over the intemediate shift throttle and cables and drive and your good to go .

Or pull the motor out ofyour boat and strip this boat and sink the hull, sell what you can and go buy a different boat.

The trunion caps there, i think i see them broke off. Ears also. Maybe i can't see too good, maybe he can pry off the rubber bumpers and send a pic of that, ball gear for sure shot.

I can't make the choice for him this barge ain't worth 100 bucks, maybe if the motor is good do we know that?

The motor is mint. Runs like a top.I stuck a wire up through where the shift cable is I found that there is 2 wires cut off so I guess It is electric shift.I bought the boat for $800 came with a tandem Axel trailer and I just found a out drive for $300 . If it is electric shift. running I have It sold for $4500 God I love this country.

From the look of the damaged area, me thinks the leg snapped off whilst "Cruising" the waterways.

That damaged Ball Gear could have physically pushed it off.

look everyone here knows that i dont know crap about omc boats , but with that being said..who in thier right mind would pay $4500.00 for an used omc outdrive rofl...did i read that correctly? if so i have a 24' sea ray boat with running motor , electric shift outdrive , tandem axle trailer ,and a marine radio ill sell ya for $2500...any takers? lol

i have a 19' ( it's actually 20 ' ) i measured it, but reg. says 19 ' got me.

Anyway it is in perfect mechanical condition, i bought the trailer and the guy threw in the boat.

When all was said and done with the 140 hp in it now i have 2,500 in it as it sits.

Full mechanical shift stringer, i'll take 3,000 trailer and all.

Syl you take it to Canada and sell it. Just give me 3 grand you sell it for whatever you want.
