"On the early OMC's, how do you flush the v8 engine out when no water hose hookup to the pivot or ear muffs that go along the drive? I just put a 64ish model OMC outdrive onto my 72 bell housing and everything bolts up but I'm trying to flush my engine. But the water seem to not flowing thru. I noticed that the replacement intermediate did not have a water hook up so I swapped caps but noticed the water is not flowing thru the engine. Please somebody help. Thanks."

"The only way to flush out a motor without the "Hook-ups" is to flush it via the Water Pump Hose, and let the water drain out via the Lower hose, then open up the Water Cocks in the base of the Block.

Whatever you do, don't try and run the engine without water flowing through the Leg, or you will damage the Primary Water Pump in the Leg, as these do not like running dry.
