Hi,
I Would like another opinion on the condition of the brass orifice which my low speed needle screws toward in order to control fuel mixture at idle.
I believe the motor is a 1992 model. The carb assembly part number is a LQ432703 - which is strange as I cant locate this part number on any of the early 90's 30hp's in the BRP website. Motor purchased in Australia.
After reviewing workshop manuals it appears that the carb is a type "A" carb.
Lowspeed idle quality has always been an issue and the ability to make muchimprovement with the low speed needle has been limited. It appears that thebrass bush / housing in the photos attached has been worn? Or it couldbe the case that this is the shape of the factory part. I pulled down my old25hp evinrude carb of similar year to inspect. The 25hp carb has a near perfect symmetrical inner circle for air flow whereas the 30hp appears to have a gouge out of bush.Is this a factory difference between the two size outboards?
Thanks
