E40RLENM will not idle need help

Hello I have just bought my first boat with my son and only tested it with the choke and not without... yes my fault. Anyway it is a 40 1992 2 cylinder starts first go with choke but the issue is when I reduce the choke it stops and thus I can not run it at idle before going into gear. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this.

Classic symptoms of a dirty / fouled carburetor.-----Take them both off and clean them, making sure you remove the high speed jet ( orifice ) found in the carburetor float bowl.----------Nervous about working on the carburetors ?------------Then look on u-tube as there are videos on how to do this simple work.------Usually no parts required on this job.
