Duel digital guage problems

I have duel 225 4 stroke 225s

I have duel 225 4 stroke 225s yams with digital guages when I start up the port motor it reads on both guages even with the starboard switch off.There's a guage buss near the batteries that seems to go to the guages at the console .There's a connector plugged into this buss with no wires coming from it that has a resistor in it could this be the problem. Please Help before i go nuts

You need to get hold of the Multifunction meter installation manual p/n 90894-62981-77
This will tell you how to set up the gauges for dual engines.
For me to tell you I would need several pages.
