Dual Evinrude 1979 15 hp NEED HELP

Hey yall,
I bought a "Meyers Super Pro Custom 15ft" this past summer, It came with dual Evinrude 15 hp long shafts with the operating system for steering and power that came from the factory way back when ha. I got because I cant say Ive since many dual engine boat that run 15hp engines, its different say none the less. The owner before me did not run the engines for a few years but the engine do run and I have ran them a few times, but feels WAY under powered.. The boat weights 260 without engines or anything.

The Questions::cool:

-Both have a very slow top when it comes to power
-With both engines running, the top speed might be 10mph, from what im reading they should be running at 20-25 miles per engine.
-With it having dual engines, should the same as a 30hp engine?
-Should it have a faster TopEnd than 20-25 miles per hour? Could it run 30-35?
- The electric starter seems to be out, but does have the backup pull starts

How to get the most out of the 15hp engine for top speed:
-best prop for top-speed?
-rebuild engine? pricey?
-New pistons?

**Not looking to drop too much money lol, just want to hit 30-35. We going to be using this as a flats boat in the Florida Keys, more or less we are wanting to "beef" up the engines any way possible ha.

Thanks in advice for any advice that is exchange!! Very much looking forward to get these guys running strong;)

Find a shop that has a test propeller.------That will determine if motors are producing the power that you read on the decals.---------Anything else is just " guesswork "

Measure from the top of the transom to bottom center mast 15 inch short 20 inch long.
You will also take about 50lbs off of the transom with a 35hp

At only 10MPH, you probably aren't even getting that boat up on plane. Boats and loads differ, but it would not be unreasonable to expect more than you are getting. Before you go doing something drastic, check those motors out to see if they are running correctly. Not familiar with that boat, but make sure it isn't waterlogged (300 pounds of water under the floor), and make sure the bottom is clean.

No, two 15's are not as fast as one 30, but low end pull might even be better than a 30 (more prop blade area).
