I have a 1998 DT85. Starts and run well. However, after the engine is warm it loses about 1/3 power. For example, if I am running at 25mph, it will drop down to 17. It will continue running at 2/3 power all day. Once it loses power, it will sometimes stall when starting back up, but eventually will start running again at 2/3 power. On very hot days, it will start out at 2/3 power even from a cold start.
Since this issue started I have:
Replaced spark plugs
Rebuilt all three carbs
Rebuilt fuel pump
Replaced all ignition coils.
I've had a mechanic look at it. He is great, but has been unable to fix to problem.
I'm at a loss of what to try next or what might be causing the issue to start with. Anyone have any ideas of what to try next?
