"I have a 2000 Suzuki DT5Y, with very low hours on it (not even 30 hours).
When I rev it up high (while flushing the motor) it gets "stuck" in very high rev idle for a few seconds, but it comes down to normal rev levels by itself. The motor makes a hell of a racket - loud noise - but doesn't put out much "extra" smoke, just a little over the regular amount.
I am running gas straight out of the built in tank.
The spark plug is clean, but it is the original plug, and the fuel filter has been cleaned.
Today, while trying it on the water, the motor would start up on the first pull and idle normally, but would die as soon as I put it in gear.
I am thinking about a carb cleaner product (Sea Foam?) and replacing the spark plug.
Any suggestions and comments will be appreciated.
