DT5 model year and dropping lower section

"Hi, jUst picked up a used DT5

"Hi, jUst picked up a used DT5 circa 80s - early 90s, but cant tell date from serial number which is 0501 335821. There are not other letters or identifiers on the plate on sode of bracket other than DT5 and the serial number.

Also tried dropping the lower section to strip / inspect waterpump but cant totally detach it It drops down an inch or so but is still attached, putting it in gear pulls it back up again. Any idea where the linkage is that needs to be serated, as its seems to be be more than just a 'pull apart' assembly?

"Also meant to say, have looked on http://www.marinshopen.se/ and understand that the 3 in the serial number should be the year, but if thats the case how do I tell if its 83 or 93?

have just figured out that u d

have just figured out that u drop the lower by removing side plate and releasing clamp on cluctch shafts. Is there any trick to aligning the levels of them back up again when re-assembling?
