"my motor runs smoothly until I try and open to full power and it just missfires, splutters and drops down its revs. Cannot seem to find problem with carby. Spark to plugs is strong. Seems like something to do with fuel but cannot find fault.
Any suggestions ?"

"pulled of carby and thought I checked every jet, but I'm going to do it again just in case there was anything I missed. New plugs but I have not changed fuel filter since fuel seems to flow freely when bulb is primed."
 
rebuild the carby with new par

rebuild the carby with new parts
replace all filters
i would rebuild fuel pump also

Out of interest, last time we were out the fuel line was partly disconnected and motor ran perfectly (flat out)}for about one minute before dieing out with lack of fuel. Pressed fuel line in again and we were away, but back to old problems. Does this point to a particular fault to you ?"

I have 2 seperate fuel tanks and same problem with motor no matter which tank is connected ?
Because fuel seems to flow so easily when bulb is primed I assumed fuel parts were okay but I will definately pull apart pump and filter.
 
well it could be fuel lines an

well it could be fuel lines and bulb or fuel pump

you need to get a fuel pressure gauge on there

"just wanted to say thanks. Dismantled and cleaned carby & fuel pump and although I did not see any blockages, something must have happened because engine is running like a dream now at full revs. Gave it a good one hours flat out cruise and its perfect - thanks."

"I have a DT40c 1994, the problem I am having is that the only way to get the engine started is in full choke, with I release the choke it stalls. I have chaged the plugs and fuel filter, the blub is good any ideas?"
