DT140 96 raises up in reverse

My motor will raise up when in

My motor will raise up when in reverse gear with moderate throttle. Trim and tilt work fine and will hold any position selected. Manual release valve is fully closed (re-checked). Could the collision pressure release valve be bad? Any in-water diagnostic procedures exist? I can't easily pull my boat and check on land.

I had checked the oil before l

I had checked the oil before launching in April. Was able to beach boat in calm conditions and checked the oil level yesterday. The reservoir was full (in full tilt position). Does this sound like a bad valve?

In July I trailered my boat to

In July I trailered my boat to my shop and rebuilt the trim/tilt pump with new seals and a new collision release valve. It solved the problem. It took quite awhile to bleed the pump.
