"Hi all, first time poster here.
I just bought my first boat and it came with a DT 150 that has been sitting for 2 or 3 years, so I cleaned the carbs, lines, and tank, also replace plugs. I then hooked up rabbit ears and started it(took a few minutes to start) it purred just like new, took it to the lake to give it a run and it would not get up on plane, started missing and died, cranked it for 5 or 10 minutes and started and idled back to dock. I pulled a plug on the very bottom cylinder (left side)and found some water, so I pulled the plug above it and same thing, the rest of the cylinders were fine. I did a compression test and all cylinders were at 60 lbs(is this BAD). I installed new head gaskets and took it back to the lake and the same thing happened again, water? What else am I missing? Thanks for any replys.

"I have an '03 DT150 that had the same exact problem. Luckily it was under warranty. Dealer ended up replacing every gasket from the cylinder head all the way to the base plate gasket and installed new pistons and rings. Looking on the Net I found that some of these motors had casting defects for the mid section. Don't know what year your motor is but could be one that was miscast. Runs great now, hopefully it will hold up for a little while."

"I replaced the head gaskets and the problem is still there.. Do you think it could be crank case gaskets? And when I was out the last time I was having trouble from engaging the motor from neutral to forward, it would idle great, but when I would put it in gear it bog down and die? Help please!!!!
