"I just bought a Fishmaster with a 2002 Suzuki DT150 (2 stroke) EFI. Motor runs great at mid-range, but is a bit rough at idle. I am not familiar with these motors but would hope this could be tuned away, to a degree. Any comments or experiences would be appreciated."

try this start your motor let it idle squeeze the ball if it starts running rough you have a hole in the diaphram in the fuel pump

"I have the same motor 2003 DT150 EFI and my engine has a rough idle and slight vibration, more noticeable when put in gear and idling from the launch but once you give a little throttle above idle it is smooth and also from mid range to WOT it is very smooth and amazingly quiet, not as quiet as a 4 stroke but quiet for a 2 stroke. If you do quite a bit of idling you may want to clean your plugs or replace them. What size fishmaster is it on? I have a 19 footer 2000 model. Center console is set farther back in the boat than the later models. Running 53 mph at WOT 5100 RPM's with a 20 pitch prop. What are you running and what are your RPM's at WOT? What size prop?"

"TJ, It sounds like my motor is running about like yours. It's really not too bad. I would just like to see if I can smooth it out a bit. I am going to decarb(seafoam) it this week-end and I have changed the plugs since the first time that I ran it.

Mine is on a 21 Ft. Fishmaster Bay boat. I don't know what RPM because the only time I ran it the tach was broken. I sent it back and it is working now. By the GPS it was running 45MPH without much of a load. This spring I will probably look at props, but I don't whats on there now. If I see much improvement I will post the results."
