I have a bad cylinder on my mo

I have a bad cylinder on my motor a 1983 e115tlct. I am looking at options and see that I might be able to get a 1979 175 evinrude with control box for around a $1000. The dealer wants to sell me a johnson 90 for $1400 and he said he wont need to change controls or anything ( drop in ) What motors can I just drop in? Prob. a lot more complicated than that? thanks in advance for any help?
 
Any model Evinrude or Johnson

Any model Evinrude or Johnson that has the large RED electrical connector on the engine's wiring harness will "drop in". That includes the 1979 175hp Evinrude you speak of.
