Driveshaft assembly part 35 stuck in Pinion GearHelp

"I am disassembling my lower g

"I am disassembling my lower gearcase (Cobra 5.7)for inspection. I have removed the lower pinion nut, but I cannot pry the driveshaft assembly loose from the Pinion Gearset. I have tried wiggling it back and forth to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas?"

Leave the pinion nut loose on

Leave the pinion nut loose on the shaft (to protect the threads).
Put a big pry-bar/screw driver between the nut and clutch-dog.
Give the prop-shaft a short knock up-wards.
This normally loosens the pinion from the shaft.
Remember: NEW nut at assembly!!!

Remember to unscrew the top be

Remember to unscrew the top bearing carrier for the drive shaft!!!!
