I was just about to replace water pump and noticed some movement in drive shaft?is side ways movement normal.I notice when i hold the top of drive shaft.Looks like about 10mm in totally maybe less 5mm either side.
I have not tried looking for other movement yet. eg movement in gear or vertical movement.
Was handling fine in water about a year ago ,no noise and slips into gear fine.
Its a 200hp mercury 1986 model
