drive problem

2008 185 bayliner, gen4 leg ,only have 20 hrs on it .took it out today ,cruised around the lake at about 30 miles an hour .then went slow along the shore for 25 mins , then went go for another cruise could not get up out of the water tried 4 times, it just revs out . big time slippage, no smell, temp gauge normal, idled back boat launch , checked prop , put in gear prop only turns one way , boat still like new , anybody have any ideas

had the prop off , seems to look good , but the nut wasnt as tight as i put it back on

does it have a rubber hub or the plastic Flo-Torq hub

Looks like black rubber ,its hard to tell if it spun ,if i put it in gear i cant turn the prop,but i suppose when you give full throttle to get up on the water there is a lot of force there

take a file or sharpie and mark it, go for a spin. If the marks have changed ,the hub has slipped

I know this is a long shot, but when you pulled the plug, had you taken on any water? Again, long shot I know...LOL...good luck and let us know. Really does sound like the hub may be spinning in the prop.
