"Could someone please post a step-by-step list of how to replace a drive damper/coupler, Crusader 454, Borg Warner gear, straight inboard, boat in water. I have the service manual--it is less than helpful.
Here's what I have so far.
1. Support engine with wood blocks, wedges, etc.
2. Disconnect transmission cooler lines.
3. Disconnect propeller shaft coupling and transmission coupling.
4. Disconnect shift cable.
5. Slide Propeller shaft back, unbolt and remove transmission.
6. Unbolt bell housing.
7. Unbolt drive dampler/coupler and replace with new. Reassemble."
