Any reason not to just use my 20v drill to start this model? Its hard for me to yank on the recoil starter more than a couple times when cold. Do you think I risk shearing the flywheel key? Thanks

Ive never heard of that Racer, but I'd love to learn about it! That particular motor is just hard to rip it seems,I would not consider this on my 7520.
ETA the rope recoils all the way but it comes out 6-8" before it has tension. Thanks!

Remove recoil.----Look for the arrow on the sheave.----Look for the arrow on the housing.-----Note that the sheave is elliptical.-----The rove moves away from center for power and closer to center for speed to turn the flywheel,

I'm looking at the assembly now . In one two places it says, " arrow here rope recoiled". One is marked JE and the other marked E.What do I need to do to time it? I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to overhaul this assy but I'd love some tips in doing so. Thanks

Change length / cut the rope so arrows line up?-----Then bring top cylinder to TDC and check position of the sheave.-----Largest diameter should be near 90 degrees to connecting rod.

??---I do not understand your question.----Put piston at TDC and see where / how the sheave is positioned.----This is really simple in my opinion.

Remove the spark plug, insert a small screwdriver into the hole and make contact with the top of the piston, rotate the flywheel clockwise and let it push the screw driver outward until it reaches the highest it will go, that is static TDC.
