Draining VST on 2010 Honda 150HP

While reviewing this forum for info on Vertical Shaft bushing replacement ( discovered mine is totally destroyed, but that's another story) I noticed a lot of discussion about draining the VST. I live in New York and presently it is 10 degrees outside. How do I go about draining to prevent possible damage.

BTW !! Has anyone had issues with the Vertical Shaft Bushing on 2010 Honda 150 HP ???
 
Super easy, see a little rubber hose connected to nothing on one end
stick that in a ice cream container. Then loosen the screw on the side of the vst closest to the boat port side.
