"On mine there is one one on each side of the block, one at the bottom of each exhaust manifold, one at the bottom of the big hose from the stat housing to the circ pump, one on the water supply hose to the stat housing just behind the serpentine belt, and one at the bottom of the same hose just forward of the Cool Fuel module. Total of 7.

If you have the belt driven pump, you likely also have one on the inlet to the pump and one on the outlet.

"Well Rod it seem these engines are not all the same. I started looking for the blue plugs and found that whoever had plumbed the engine put drain hoses from the block on each side, the manifolds on each side and they all go into a lower manifold right by a blue drain plug by the front bottom of the engine. I wonder if these engines are shipped to the boat manufacturer without being plumbed for water."

"That is the so-called single point drain system, which is optional on all new Mercs.
The idea is that you simply open the one master drain and that does it all.
Supposed to make it easier.

Most feel that it is still good practice to individually disconnect each hose after the main drain, just to make sure everything did drain.
Your call.
