Hi I try to change the stern oil myself. There should be a dipstick but I can not find docs about where it is. Does somebody know where it is on the pictures?

Thanks

Here's a view of each.
With any V/P Duo Prop, the drive oil will be GL-5.... not engine oil as with the s/p drives.
You'll need two new O-rings and one red phanolic gasket.

BTW.... I believe that this is a DP-C drive. Previous models use the anchorage bracket and reverse latch.

Hi thanks. Where are the gasket and rings for, are they standarized or from volvo? Also I have this oil and a pump. It is not from volvo but at the store they say it works. I thought it should be pumped up until the oil comes out from the top plug but now I am confused, should I just use the fill port? Excuse me for maybe obvious questions.

That store is incorrect. They should not be recommending gear oil if they aren't up to speed on Volvo Penta.

We don't pump the oil in from the drain port. You'll be using the fill port and gravity.

And your drive (if it is a C drive) may use the steel sliding sleeve and coated gear cups.
You'll want to look at the ID tag just ahead of the transmission and behind the helmet.
Then use the gear oil that Volvo Penta recommends for that model drive.

The two O-rings will be for the dip stick and the drain plug. These cannot be used second time around.
If you have a generic O-ring source, look at the #2-110.

The fill plug gasket is an OEM part.

Ok will change the oil. I found the type, it is indeed dp-c. I broke my screwdriver trying to open the dipstick plug, is there a special tool for that I should use?

I never use a screw driver. Screw drivers don't cut the mustard, IMO.

I use a hand held impact driver on the drain plug for both loosening and re-installing.
I use a channel loc pliers on the dip stick for both loosening and re-installing.

Thank you so much so far btw, finally getting somewhere. The dipstick is loose with the suggested tool but there is no oil on it. I hope for the best but fear the worst. I drained some oil to check, at least some came out so it is not complete empty. It looks milky to me. What should I do, pressure test? Open the drive to see if there is damage because of low oil level?

I had a leak before last year, I think it was because the bottom hit the ground while the boat was on the trailer. I saw drips on the street under the drive. I had it fixed by the yard and the boat was in the water since. I wish I knew about that dipstick earlier, always thought the boat must be out of the water to check the level :(
