hi i am new here i have a 1978 or 1979 mercury 700 70h.p i have no power to coils or ing. box can anyone help

Check your fuses and battery connections.

thank you will try that just got boat today will have to find fuses, i had to replace part of 2 wires going to stator they were bad coating was coming off

If you had wires rotted you had better give the entire engine the twice over for more of the same. Get a test light or DVM...you'll need it.

The battery itself is not used to generate the spark.------That is done by the flywheel when it is spinning.
