doesn't run when in drive need help?

i have a 1992 bayliner with volvo motor, the problem i'm having is the boat will run in reverse but won't in drive but it revs up. Somebody told me it was the shear pin but wanted to get second opinion. Can someone please help?

Bayliner did not use Volvo Penta after 1987 or so!
From 1987 on, the engines/drives were a combination of M/C and OMC until 1993, I believe, when Volvo Penta dismanteled OMC, and Bayliner now owned Mercury Marine.

Unless this had been custom ordered, you probably have an OMC drive that uses a ESA system, and that may be causing your issue!
Post a few photos of your engine and drive for us!
