"David I thought your boat was raw water cooled? or am I missing something.

If its FWC the cooloing system has to be filled with coolant of course.

Never run the pump dry. I always put some dishwashing detergent on the impeller when installing. Set the vanes so they trail the direction of rotation, put a zip tie round the blades and cut it once the impeller is installed.

You can connect a garden hose to the raw water inlet hose inside the boat with a hose clamp for limited out of water testing, but a lot of temp and heating issues only show up out on the water.

Did you solve your manifold problem?"

well I found out that the v-dr

well I found out that the v-drive cooling assemby had a crack where it had been repaired before and was leaking some water.....so i took it out and i'm going to have it rebuilt.....I believe the manifold problem is solved with the correct thermostat and a rebuilt raw water pump but i need to put the back half of the gearbox back in before i can test that
