Been working on a 1983 Mercury 9.8hp with no spark on either cylinder. I did Stator resistance tests, and the resistance was within the specs for one of the stator-coils but not for the other (the other one was off-the-charts too high).
Does this suggest I need to replace the entire stator? Is there any reason why only one coil would be within the acceptable range?
