"just in time thanks for your help last time.
I just installed a pair of DF-250 on my 2596 hydra sport CC, the moters have a 25" shaft haven't test drive yet still in the shop. a guy i met on a fishing trip said tat i need a 30" shaft, because the 25" is too short causing cavitation, can you give me a feed back on this, and how fast you think the boat should run.

The cavitation plates on the motors should be about even with the bottom of the boat. Where do they fall on your set up ?? A 25" shaft is pretty much the standard except for some boats with very deep transoms. Maybe yours is just set up improperly. You could put on some jacking plates to to give more adjustment.

Test ran the boat this weekend motor ran fine, max out @ 51 mph, motors over rev above 6200 rpm with 3/4 tank of gas 2 guys, same speed I got with old twin 200 Evinrude Fitch, brought it to Duvic marine the mechanic suggest that I need to run a pair of 3x16x23 suzuki prop to lower the RPM down, some how I'm not to impress with the four stroke out of the hole as the 2 stroke. or I might have the wrong prop. I'll test the boat again after the 4th and will post the new result. Thanks a gain Bowhuntrrl, and Just In Time"
