Do I have the 9.9hp decoded correctly?
E10RELEIR
Evinrude 10horse power, rope start,long shaft,electric start w/ remote steering,1991
I think I’m incorrect bc how can it be both tiller an remote steer? I believe this is a remote steer. maybe my code chart is not for this year model. thanks for advising

if I'm able to get this engine I'll need a wire harness/binical/control cables.
1.will this engine require a battery to rope start an run?
2.is this a premixed fuel or doe's it have a oil pump?
3.I estimate weight not to exced 100LBs exact weight would be helpfull.
not sure if the main wire harness is included haven't heard back from seller.

is this the main wire harness? I assume any BRP binical will plug in?
thanks KevinJ

Motor does not need the battery to " run" , ----Might need a battery to protect charging system.----Runs with 50:1 mix.----Listed at 80-1/2 LBS in catalogue

I now see there is an electric starter

not sure what I'm looking at appears to be a thick battery cable. not sure what it's main wire harness looks like? appears to have the steering arm.

doe's this engine need a binical? an control cables to shift gears an throttle control?

response from seller "Has no switch, it plugs straight to the control. Worked perfectly when switched to a bigger engine." not sure what shes saying.
thanks racerone

the binical isn't included. I assume the wire's attached to engine are in fact the main wire harness an the red plug plugs into this old fashioned binicals red plug correct?
1991 binical.jpg

I also found out I can use any newer BRP binical w/ P/N 768411 adapter harness.

now I have a newer BRP binical from previous main engine. just need the adaptor or can I make my own?

The one large cable is your red plug, which contains all the wires for start, stop, tach, kill switch, etc. The other two are the + & - battery cables. I don't see the shift and throttle control connections in the pictures, but yes, the setup on this engine will require remote binical controls to operate along with a steering connection.

My guess is the sellers comment is simply there are no start/stop controls mounted on the engine, it is only setup to work remotely.

I'd like to have a nice lite weight kicker to bad a new 2 stroke isn't available in USA. I take that back amazon doe's sell 2 stroke kickers only problem is where there made. thanks Kevinj I just created another thread on the kicker
In order to use this engine I need the proper wire adaptors to connect to a binnical or buy a old binnical w/ the harness. like will any harness w/ this red plug be plug an play for this engine?
