Anyone DIY this parts? Was it difficult? I have two holes on twin 2004 30" BF225:mad:. Do I need special tools and the shop manual?
Thanks.

I've done this one before, it's not bad at all. if you are going to do this, you'll want to make sure that you have the newer style exhaust tubes installed. If you had SB #56 done then you should have the newer ones already. Also change out midshaft bearing and check your drive shaft to make sure it's not worn too bad. Do you have any pictures of the two holes? Perhaps the midsection is too far gone.

Thanks for the reply.

This boat had received the annual service including water pumps at a marina (not Honda spe******t) before I bought her in late 2015. I used her last season for around 80 hours without an issue but did notice a knocking sound in the midsection at idle. I did not know the bearing issue, neither the prior owner did, until I joined this forum. Therefore I planned to change the bearings and C-clips but after pulling out the low units, I found the damages were done long time ago. I did not find the old bearing, but the shafts seems to be okay, no scratch or groove.

It looks like these motors were running this way for quite a while, Is there any other possibly damage to the heads or gears that I should worry? Also IMG_3639.jpgThere are two different parts number for the exhaust extension on the iboats.net. Which one is for 2004 30" BF 225?

Thanks again. I am quite handy at turning wrenches and do have lot of tools. Do you think it can be done within three hours each side?

I have done this job a number of times. I knock the Yoke off the swivel tube and the exhaust housing will slide right off. The upper mounts will hold the engine when tilted up to the balance point.

Heat gun on the Yoke will help it slide off easier.

Thanks for the tips. I have sent you a PM.
